2 quarts boiling water ½ c. organic barley (whole grain or hulled, not “pearl”) ¼ tsp. ground cardamom (or 3 pods, freshly ground) Burleson's Pure Honey to taste
Bring water to a rolling boil. Wash barley in cold water, drain, and immediately add to boiling water. Reduce heat and simmer for 30 minutes.
The water will become pink and cloudy. Strain the liquid and allow it to stand until clear. Stir cardamom into water. Serve hot with honey.
