1/3 cup Burleson’s Pure Honey 1/3 cup granulated sugar 1/4 cup (1/2 stick) butter 1 teaspoon vanilla 5 cups pecan halves 1 teaspoon coarse (kosher) salt 1 teaspoon crystallized sugar
Preheat oven to 275º F. In 4-cup glass measure, combine honey, 1/3 cup sugar and butter. Microwave on High for 2 minutes. Microwave on High for 2 minutes longer, stirring every 30 seconds. Stir in vanilla. Divide pecans on 2-rimmed baking pans lined with parchment paper. Bake for 35 minutes, stirring every 10 to 12 minutes. Cool for 2 to 3 minutes on pans. Combine 1 teaspoon each salt and sugar; sprinkle over pecans. Cool completely. Break into pieces. Store in airtight container. Makes about 5 cups.
Nina’s Suggestion: Place a cup or more of these in a pretty cellophane bag and tie it with a bow.
