A traditional Eastern European stew
3 lbs. beef brisket, cut into 6-8 pieces 2 Tbs. olive oil 1 1/2 lbs. prunes, soaked in 3 c. boiling water 2 onions, diced 3 sweet potatoes, peeled and quartered 1/2 c. Burleson's Pure Honey 1/2 tsp. each, ground cloves and cinnamon Salt and pepper to taste
Heat oil in heavy skillet and brown meat on both sides. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Place meat and remaining ingredients, including prune water, in slow cooker. Cook on medium heat for 8 hours. (If not using slow cooker, use a Dutch oven and cook meat for 1 hour, covered, after browning. Then add remaining ingredients and simmer an additional 2 hours.) Makes 6-8 servings.
