Make this flavor-filled salad for your family throughout the holiday season and throughout the year.
Salad: 1 bag (10 oz) romaine lettuce blend or European-style salad greens (6 cups) 1 can (11 oz) mandarin oranges, drained 1 Braeburn or other tart red apple, cored and sliced 1/4 cup sweetened dried cherries* 1/4 cup pecan pieces, toasted
Honey Mustard Dressing: 1 tablespoon canola oil 1 tablespoon olive oil 1 tablespoon Burleson's Clover Honey 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard 1 tablespoon white balsamic vinegar (or white vinegar) 1 tablespoon water
In large salad bowl, combine salad ingredients. In small bowl, whisk together dressing ingredients. Pour dressing over salad; toss gently.
Makes 6 servings. (This recipe is easily doubled to make 12 servings for a large family gathering.)
*Substitute dried cranberries (Craisins) if you like.
Great gift idea: Mix equal portions of each of the six ingredients in the Honey-Mustard Dressing (above) to make small bottles to give to your neighbors and friends. For example, 1/4 cup of each ingredient mixed together makes 1-1/2 cups or a 12 oz jar of Honey-Mustard Dressing.
