An ancient recipe for energy that's still ideal today. Take it on a hiking trail or a long bike ride to stay in the game.
1/2 c. Burleson's Pure Honey 1/2 c. raisins 1/2 c. pitted dates 1/2 c. figs 1/2 c. almonds 1/2 c. cashews 1/2 c. walnuts 1/2 c. pecans 1/2 c. wheat germ 1/2 c. wheat bran 1/2 c. whole wheat flour 1/2 c. powdered milk
Combine fruits and nuts in a large bowl. In another bowl, mix germ, bran, flour and milk. Alternate adding the honey and germ/flour mixture to the fruit/nut mixture. When all ingredients are combined, you may need to add a little water to moisten it enough to pour into an oiled 8" X 8" baking pan. Bake in preheated 375 degrees Fahrenheit oven for 30 minutes. Once cooled, slice into bars or break into chunks.
