Honey Holiday Spritz Cookies

Makes 3 dozen cookies. NOTE: If you don’t have a pastry bag, simply place the dough in a strong plastic bag and snip off a corner.

Ingredients:

1/2 c. Burleson’s Pure Honey
1/2 c. butter
2 Tbs. maple syrup
2 egg yolks (or one whole egg)
1-1/2 tsp. almond extract
1/8 tsp. salt
2 c. whole wheat or all purpose flour

Directions:
Cream together honey, butter and syrup. Beat in egg yolks, extract and salt until smooth. Stir in flour until the dough is stiff. Force dough through a pastry bag onto greased baking sheets, forming “s” or “o” shapes. Press each cookie to flatten slightly, using wet fingers. Bake in preheated 400°F. oven for 10 minutes, until edges are browned but the cookies remain pale.
